FILM FEST:

The film festival is conducted biannually by the film and CD committee, in partnership with the technical committee of the JSA. It is housed in one of the main lecture halls of the institute block, and movies are chosen by popular demand. Movies in major languages and popular documentaries provide an entertaining and educational weekend. The event helps to fund various activities by the JSA. The fests are held on the 3^rd week of March and 2^nd week of October.

FRESHER’S PARTY:

The incoming batch of juniors is introduced to the college with this event. The executive batch, in collaboration with faculty members, organizes a meet and greet, in which the new juniors can forge personal connections, and learn more about their new home. The event takes place in the third week of August.

HOLI:

Organized by the soon-to-be executive batch, the second year MBBS students, Holi is an opportunity for students to get together with faculty and celebrate. The festival of colors is split into two parts. A night of cultural activities is followed by playing with colors the next morning.

Graduation day

GRADUATION DAY ASSISTANCE

Members of the student body volunteer to help organize graduation day. Various committees employ their skill sets to support the organizers.

LIT AND DEBATING COMP

Preceding the big event, the literary and debating committee sets up a series of competitions and games for the student body.

OUTGOING STUDENTS VS STAFF SPORTS COMP

To commemorate the graduation of the outgoing batch, students get together with staff to face off in a friendly volleyball match.

CULT NIGHT

After the formalities are done with, it’s time to celebrate. The executive batch organizes a grand get-together of faculty, students and staff. Performances by faculty, and programs organized by the students provide a heartwarming sendoff for the outgoing students.

INTERCLASS COMPETITIONS

It’s time for battle! Lines are drawn between batches, which compete for points across a variety of events for the interclass trophy.
Sports day

Team events occur between the months of ____ and ____. Athletic events are conducted on the main football field on sports day. The event takes place in the second week of August.

ZEST THE CULTURAL COMP

Stage performances, including dance, miming, skits, Indian and western music are held on Lister stage. The events are organized by the executive batch, who bring in our talented faculty members to help judge. The event is typically held in the first week of August.

LIT AND DEBATING

A series of events are held throughout the month of ____ by the literary and debate committee, with the involvement of several judges selected from faculty.

SPANDAN

The student body puts together the largest intercollegiate medical school festival in south India. A week of cultural, culinary, literary, and sporting events brings together students from across the region. The event helps sponsor charities and social causes. INDEPENDENCE DAY, GHANDI JAYANTHI, REPUBLIC DAY

The executive batch, on these days of national importance, puts together the performances by students and speeches by senior faculty to celebrate our country’s spirit.
