Academic

The department has a regular teaching program for undergraduate (M.B.B.S) (150 students per batch) and postgraduate (MD Pediatrics) students, as well as a PhD program in Pediatrics. The department also runs a DM program in Pediatric Critical Care and Emergency with intake of two students per year. The department also supports the Nursing College of JIPMER to run its B.Sc., M.Sc. courses and Post-B.Sc. specialized training in Pediatric critical care nursing. As on 31st March 2020, the department has 51 students undergoing training for MD (Pediatrics), 6 students undergoing DM (Pediatric critical care and Emergency) and five PhD scholars pursuing research. The new allied academic course ‘Postgraduate Diploma in Genetic Counselling’ was started in the department. Three students are undergoing training in the second batch at present.
