OPD services are available on all days except Sundays and other JIPMER holidays at Room No: 64 in the old OPD block on the ground floor. The Department attended to - outpatient visits in 2021, representing - of all outpatient visits in the entire JIPMER. In addition, the Department also runs sub- specialty clinics in Paediatric orthopedics(Clubfoot Clinic), Spine clinic, Sports medicine , Cerebral Palsy and Tumor Clinics in the afternoons.

Inpatient Services:  The department has 64 sanctioned in-patient beds located in the ground and first floor of the PMRC block, which is just adjacent to the OPD. In addition it caters to in patients admitted to emergency and special wards. We on an average perform about 1,500 Major Elective Orthopedic surgeries per year and close to 2,000 Emergency Trauma surgeries in a year. This volume keeps our specialists current, and ready to offer the most effective state of the art treatment to our patients.

In keeping with the latest developments in the field of Orthopedic surgery the department offers state of the art services including, Computer Navigation assisted Spine Surgery, Computer Navigation assisted Joint Replacement Surgeries, Computer assisted Deformity correction (Hexapod), Minimally invasive trauma surgery (MIPO), and minimally invasive spine surgery.(Link to sub speciality services)

Ours is one of the few centers in the country to provide integrated facilities of orthopaedics and rehabilitation under the same roof. This ensures the continuum of care for the patients. In this endeavor we are ably supported by a well- trained team of Rehabilitation Professionals, including Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, Orthotic and prosthetic technicians.
