Facilities / services offered at CSSD

CSSD receives used instrument trays. On receiving, soiled linen separated and sent to laundry. The rest of the instruments are carefully cleaned, washed with disinfectant, dried and packed with instruments and other essentials like cotton, gauze, needle & cup etc. There are 22 different types of trays to be packed. Separate dressing materials are prepared and packed in dressing bins. These dressing bins packed trays and other pre-packed bins & trays from rest of the hospital are received and systematically sterilized. Other equipment’s like endoscopes, ventilator circuits and other items which cannot be sterilized in steam sterilizer are all sterilized with ETO & Plasma sterilizer and send to issue counter from where they are dispatched according to the CSSD indent book.
