JIPMER Surgery Residents win Best Paper awards and Surgical Quiz

Dr. Mohsina Subair, Junior Resident, Department of Surgery received the 1st Prize for the Best Paper Award in the Poster Session of the First JIPMER Surgery Update held at JIPMER on 18th& 19th February 2017 for her poster titled “Double splenic artery pseudoaneurysm with pseudocyst in a patient of chronic pancreatitis- A therapeutic stalemate?”. The paper was co-authored by Dr. Santhosh Satheesh, Dr. Suresh Kumar S, Dr. Sreenath G.S., Dr. Mahesh Kumar S, Dr. Deepak Bharathi and Dr. Vikram Kate.
Dr. Jubel J Kunnathoor, Junior Resident, Department of Surgery received the 2nd Prize for the Best Paper Award in the Poster Session of the First JIPMER Surgery Update held at JIPMER on 18th& 19th February 2017 for his poster titled “Comparison of surgical site infections and scar cosmesis between conventional linear skin closure vs purse string closure in stoma reversal- A randomized controlled trial”. The paper was co-authored by Dr. Suresh Kumar S and Dr. S. Manwar Ali.
Dr. Mohsina Subair, Junior Resident, Department of Surgery received the 3rd Prize for the Best Paper Award in the Poster Session of the First JIPMER Surgery Update held at JIPMER on 18th& 19th February 2017 for her poster titled “Comparison of Adapted Enhanced Recovery after Surgery Pathway vs. standard care following simple closure of perforated duodenal ulcer- An open labelled Randomized Controlled trial’. The paper was co-authored by Dr. Shanmugam Dasarathan, Dr. Sureshkumar S, Dr. Pankaj Kundra, Dr. Mahalakshmy T and Dr. Vikram Kate.
Dr. Karthik Prakash, Junior Resident, Department of Surgery received the first prize in the quiz competition of the First JIPMER Surgery Update held at JIPMER on 18th& 19th February 2017. . Dr. Aneesh Suresh, Junior Resident, Department of Surgery received the second prize and Dr. Mayank Mangal, Junior Resident, Department of Surgery received the third prize in the quiz competition of the First JIPMER Surgery Update
