Best paper awards to Surgery Residents at ASICON 2016

Junior Residents of the Department of Surgery won the best paper awards of the 76th Annual National Conference of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASICON 2016) held at Mysuru from 14th to 18th December 2016.

Dr. Mohsina Subair, Junior Resident, Department of Surgery received the first prize in Best Paper Award session of the 76th National Conference of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASICON 2016) for her paper titled ‘Comparison of Adapted Enhanced Recovery after Surgery Pathway vs. standard care following simple closure of perforated duodenal ulcer- An open labelled Randomized Controlled trial’. The paper was co-authored by Dr. ShanmugamDasarathan, Dr. Sathasivam Sureshkumar, Dr. PankajKundra, Dr. Mahalakshmy T and Dr. Vikram Kate.

Dr. Karthik Prakash, Junior Resident, Department of Surgery received the third prize in Dr. C Palanivelu Best Postgraduate Paper session of the 76th National Conference of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASICON 2016) for his paper titled “Prevalence of gastro-esophageal reflux disease in patients with bronchial asthma”.The paper was co-authored by Dr. Elamurugan T P, Dr. Manwar Ali S and Dr. Jagdish S.
